Know MoreJoint initiative by Satara Territorial Forest Department & Karma Pratisthan
On 23/12/2025, a joint program was organized by the Satara Territorial Forest Department and Karma Pratisthan, Satara at the Zilla Parishad School, Khindwadi, located in the notified area of the Satara Forest Range.
During the program, complete information regarding forest fires was provided in connection with the Forest Fire Season 2025โ26.
The Forest Department appealed for cooperation from all participants in forest fire prevention activities.
For forest fire prevention and forest conservation activities, Karma Pratisthan works in close coordination with the Forest Department, strictly following all rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures laid down by the department.
All activities are planned and implemented under the guidance and supervision of forest authorities, ensuring safety, legality, and effectiveness in every initiative undertaken.
Through this collaborative approach, Karma Pratishthan focuses on forest fire prevention, community awareness, early reporting, and protection of forest ecosystems, while respecting forest laws and conservation priorities.
This partnership-based model ensures transparency, accountability, and long-term environmental impact, making our forest fire prevention work reliable, compliant, and scalable for CSR partnerships and donor support.
We plan to plant fire-resistant and moisture-retaining plant species such as Neem, Peepal, Banyan, Arjun, and Jamun trees. These trees are known for their dense foliage, high moisture content, and ability to reduce fire intensity.
In addition to trees, we also aim to plant shrubs and ground-level vegetation such as Aloe Vera, Agave, and Lemongrass, which act as natural fire barriers and help retain soil moisture.
To further strengthen fire prevention measures, we plan to plant Vetiver grass and other green grasses that help control soil erosion and reduce dry fuel load in forest areas.
